Education and Professional Experience

EDUCATION

November 21, 1990 Main Astronomical Observatory of Ukraine. Ph.D in Heliophysics and Physics of the Solar System.
``Studying solar photosphere brightness oscillations using photodiode arrays''. The PhD research required the development and evaluation of two high-precision solar photometers. The photometers were a novel design in the photo-diode array technique whose function was to detect extremely small brightness oscillations with the amplitude of about 0.01% of the solar photosphere brightness on the solar disk. A moderate spatial resolution allowed us to compare these oscillations detected using a ground-based telescope with those taken from both the SMM space mission and from the South Pole brightness oscillation measurements. The spectra of these oscillations were analyzed to study low- and intermediate-degree solar oscillation modes and internal differential rotation of the Sun.

1965--1970 Place: Lviv Polytechnical Institute, Ukraine. MS-degree: A Diploma titled "Engineer in Electronics Devices and Techniques" was acquired with the Highest Honor (Red Diploma).

1954--1965 Ruzhychanka (Khmelnitsky Region, Ukraine) Middle and High School, Gold Medal.
